What is Davidsbuendler?

Davidsbuendler is a non-profit association based in Spain (legally registered at the National Association Department in 2011). Inspired by the imaginary society which Robert Schumann mentions in his writings and musical works, in which relevant musicians of his time collaborated to enrich the future of the arts, the young pianist and musicologist Jesús Herrera founded this organisation with the support of the great concert pianists Aldo Ciccolini and Jean-Yves Thibaudet, who offered their Honorary Chairmanship.

Davidsbuendler wants to make high quality contributions to the musical world in general, with a vast social approach and with a great specific interest in creating educational and professional opportunities for young musicians.

The essential philosophy in its development is to inspire musicians to work together to achieve individual goals, whilst they are focused in a larger spectrum in order to benefit the whole community of musicians and society. Thus, both the artists and the collaborating institutions will provide the maximum benefit to their own goals whilst achieving aims that strengthen the entire ensemble of artists and culture in general. Significantly, it is especially important for this structure to give the possibility to young artists to express themselves outside the scope of competition and marketing, thus creating opportunities that help them grow as artists with a sincere and unique artistic message.
